what is church@hpc?
church @ hyde park corner is an inclusive community where students can ask questions about life and faith, learn with and from each other, and go through uni life together.
who are we?
We’re a church who want to serve the people who live in and around Hyde Park - we love students and have the desire to understand the community in which we live. We have a passion for showing people that Jesus and the church truly love and care about everyone.
We gather together every Sunday for a community meal, and we regularly hold events that help students feel welcome and part of our community.
why does hpc exist?
Church @ Hyde Park Corner exists to create a welcoming community for all students. We know a big part of student community is food, space & wellbeing, which is why we open up our building every Sunday and provide free food and opportunities to chat with our team. Everyone is welcome here – no matter your opinions, perspectives or questions. Questions of life and faith are universal, no matter your religion, and we strive to be a safe space for every student to explore them, and to make friends in the process.
We also get that the wider Christian church has done many positive things for society, whilst acknowledging at the same time, it has got some things wrong. We as church@hyde park corner alongside our wider St Augustine’s family want to change that. Lots of us have a story to tell of how Jesus has changed our lives for the better, and we truly believe that Jesus is for everyone, and loves everyone.
We launched in September 2020, in the heart of Hyde Park, so that we could be close to students in the midst of lifes challenges.

We believe the church is for everyone, no matter what. We’re committed to learning with all students in the context they’re in, and doing uni life together.

We know that Hyde Park is the place many students call home alongside a diverse community of others, and we love it and everyone in it. Everything we do aims to help this area be the best place to live, work and study.

We are a Christian community who wants to give every student the opportunity to know Jesus. church@hpc is an open space to ask and chat through questions about life and faith.
where are we?
We’re right on Hyde Park Corner - you can find us next to Woodhouse Moor, next door to the One Stop, and opposite Hyde Park Pub. Catch us on your way to Coffee on the Crescent, Crispy’s and Hyde Park Book Club - just look for the big spire!
